DeMille is Hollywood Video Series
DeMille Is Hollywood is a YouTube video series produced by the Cecil B. De Mille Foundation to tell the story of Cecil B. DeMille, the most successful producer-director in the history of film. The series begins with The Squaw Man of 1914, which was the first of DeMille’s seventy films, and the first feature film made in Hollywood.
Written and directed by DeMille scholar Mark A. Vieira, each episode relates untold stories of DeMille’s four decades in the film capital, when he created such blockbusters as The King of Kings, Samson and Delilah, and the beloved 1956 version of The Ten Commandments. There are also episodes devoted to DeMille’s innovation of the art director in the film industry, as well as an episode about the ground-breaking sound epic The Sign of the Cross.
